Pencils and inks: Me
Colors: David Delanty
David makes 1pt perspective look good. Coloring depth in this perspective is often difficult because of the "lack of angles". I designed this piece with him in mind. I like the pose and environment as a flat piece of artwork. I originally was going to color this in Adobe Illustrator as vector art and submit it as a graphic poster. As I began inking the piece I saw David color a piece that felt quite flat on pencil. I turned to David and trusted him with my cover.
I plan on having David color my markered cover with the main character falling with broken glass.
One of David's extraordinary gifts is his attention to detail that isn't even drawn. With Witchblade, David added depth to the buildings by making small environments. Here, David decided to create the landscape in the windows behind our main character. Whether adding little blinking lights or the steam from a nice cup of coffee in the background, he continues to prove his worthiness among fellow comic book colorists.
